MANSFIELD — Three local women have been selected as finalists for the 2019 ATHENA Award in Richland County, the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce announced today.
The award, sponsored by Richland Bank, will be handed out at the Chamber Annual Meeting & Economic Excellence Awards on Jan. 31.
ATHENA finalists for 2019 are Annamarie Fernyak (founder of Mind Body Align), Julie Kleshinski (Executive Director of the New Store) and Jodie A. Perry (President of the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce).
“The ATHENA Leadership Award is presented to an individual who is honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills,” said Eric Snyder, Chamber board chair.
“There was a strong pool of candidates. I feel the committee did a great job selecting the three finalists,” Snyder said.
The Richland Area Chamber of Commerce became the new home for the ATHENA Award in 2016 after being given out by the TWIN (A Tribute to Women & Industry) Committee in Richland County since 1989.
The nominations were reviewed by a panel of past ATHENA Award recipients who then selected the three finalists and the recipient, who will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting.
In addition to the ATHENA Award, the Chamber will announce the Chairman’s Award recipient, as well as several Economic Excellence Awards.
The dinner will be at the Kehoe Center in Shelby. A cocktail hour kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and dinner, catered by The Vault, will be served at 6:30.
The early bird ticket price of $45 is good through Jan. 16. Sponsorship packages are also available. Call the Chamber office at 419-522-3211 or visit its website at www.RichlandAreaChamber.com for more information.
