• The Sandusky, Mansfield & Newark Railroad came to Ankenytown in 1851, causing great commotion. It later became the B & O Railroad and ran until the 1980s.

  • The railroad grade entering Ankenytown from the east is now empty ground used for storing farm equipment. It is presumably from this direction that the noisy train came in 1851 startling local farmers into action.
