MANSFIELD — About 45 people took part Tuesday night as the Chin family, owners of Chinatown Restaurant, hosted their 21st annual fundraiser.
Those in attendance raised $12,845 during a dessert auction, purchasing treats that many will use during their Thanksgiving meal.
The event has raised more than $175,000 during the 21 years. The beneficiary of the event for the last 10 years has been The New Store.
The New Store clothes more than 1,100 Richland County school children in need, gives 2,200 age appropriate filled school backpacks and works with several local churches and organizations to provide more than 1,100 children with personalized Christmas gifts.
