Gwendolyn BUCK, 87, passed this life on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness.
Ms. Buck was born on Wednesday, May 6, 1931 to the late Cicero and Susie (Colquitt) Luckie in Mansfield and was a lifetime resident of the community. She was a former employee of Therm-O-Disc retiring as a Chief Inspector in 1992 after 30 years of service. Ms. Buck was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she served on the Nurses Guild.
Gwendolyn leaves to mourn her passing a son Tyrone Buck, Mansfield; 4 grandchildren including a grandson Shmar Hughes; 8 great grandchildren including Tyrell Shaw, Mansfield and Staff Sgt. Theda Shaw serving with the US Air Force stationed in Germany whom she raised (after the loss of their mother and grandmother); 1 sister: M. Jean Stokes; 2 brothers: Lewis (Vickie) Luckie and Jerry (Jean) Luckie; and sister-in-law: Ola Luckie, Mansfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 daughters Theda Hughes-Shaw, Gail and Stephanie Hughes, granddaughter Felicia Shaw-Philip, 4 siblings, Louise Brightwell, Ann Luckie, Thomas Brightwell and Rudolph Luckie, and her sister-in-law Dorothy Brightwell.
Memorial services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Services with Minister John Bessick officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel beginning at 10 a.m. till the time of service.
