MANSFIELD — Wooster remained undefeated atop the Ohio Cardinal Conference standings by pulling away from a 7-7 halftime knot and dumping Mansfield Senior 27-7 on Friday night at Arlin Field.
The Tygers scored first when Amajeon Robertson crashed over from 2 yards out to make it 7-0 with 10:33 remaining in the half.
But the Generals (6-2 overall, 5-0 in the Ohio Cardinal Conference) took over from there.
Wooster tied the game on Brayden Taylor’s 8-yard TD dash at the 2:37 mark of the second quarter. The Generals moved in front for good on quarterback Dylan Dagley’s 21-yard touchdown burst with 6:22 showing in the third period. Moments later, Dagley ripped off a 51-yard scoring bolt to make it 21-7.
Taylor’s 16-yard TD run with 9:24 remaining finished it.
Dagley racked up 106 yards rushing and 105 yards passing.
Mansfield Senior (3-5, 1-4) was limited to 96 yards rushing on 30 attempts. Quarterback Cameron Todd was 14 of 26 passing for 165 yards, but suffered three interceptions. Angelo Grose had 7 catches for 76 yards to pace the Tygers.
Senior High will host Mount Vernon next week. Wooster goes outside the conference to tangle with Fairless.
