ONTARIO – The Richland Mall has been sold for $7.4 million, according to a recent property transfer filed Aug. 31 with the Richland County Courthouse.
The mall, located at 2209 Richland Mall in Ontario, was sold by the “Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., as a trustee” to the Richland Mall Holdings LLC of Miami, Florida.
Richland Mall manager, Jodie Scott didn’t provide comment on the sale, and the new owners were not immediately available.
The sale does not include Avita Health System’s hospital, which is connected to the Richland Mall.
In 2014, the Richland Mall was ordered to sell as the result of a foreclosure action granted to Wells Fargo Bank.
The foreclosure action began on Sept. 9, 2014 with the United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern Division of the Northern District of Ohio, and Judge Patricia A. Gaughan rendered the decision in favor of plaintiff Wells Fargo against defendant Centro Richland, LLC., according to a 2015 Richland Source article.
In early 2016, the deed was given to Wells Fargo. Other sales of this property, as recorded by the Richland County Auditor’s Office, took place in July 2006 and February 1997.
