BELLVILLE — An 8-mile through hike of the Clear Fork Valley Scenic Trail will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22. Located in southern Richland County, the trail winds through 600 acres of nature preserves, featuring old growth woods, tall grass prairies, waterfalls and Black Hand Sandstone outcroppings.
A potluck dinner and campfire will follow the walk.
The hike begins at 1:30 p.m. Meet at the Newville Bridge parking lot (Pleasant Hill Road at Ohio 95). The foot trail is hilly with small streams to cross and will be walked in groups at a moderate fitness pace. Bring campfire food or potluck dish to share after the walk.
