LOUDONVILLE – Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation on Tuesday made a $2,000 contribution to the Mohican Area Community Fund, representing one of the first major business gifts in support of the 2019 MACF “Have a Mohican Heart!” Campaign.

“Cabot is excited to have the opportunity to get involved in the area and donate to the Mohican Area Community Fund. We look forward to an ongoing partnership to help provide funding to organizations doing important work in the community,” said George E. Stark, director of external affair for Cabot.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation is a company engaged in the exploration and development of oil and natural gas resources in the United States.  Cabot is presently seeking to explore and develop potential resources below Columbia Gas Transmission’s large natural gas storage fields located mostly in Green, Vermillion and Hanover Townships in southern Ashland County.

“We are grateful to Cabot Oil & Gas for this outstanding expression of support for MACF and hope that it will serve as an example for other businesses in our area,” says Brian E. Hartzell, MACF president and campaign chair.

Since 2009, MACF has steadily surpassed each year’s campaign goals, including the achievement of its $90,000 mark last year with a total of nearly $92,000, the second largest amount raised in its 44-year history for an increasing list of local charities requesting funding support.  This year’s goal is again set at $90,000.

In 2019, the Mohican Area Community Fund will provide essential funding support for 34 local nonprofit organizations and other groups that provide program services to improve academic excellence in our schools, health, human and family services, provide support for youth sports and local recreation activities, and promote an appreciation for our community’s historic past.
