Glenn Sherman “Sherm” Stackhouse, 85, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at his residence.
Born April 15, 1933 in Ashland, he was the son of Glenn C. and Margaret A. (Summers) Stackhouse.
Sherm retired from Preston Trucking following 27 years of service and was a lifelong member of Ashland Church of Christ. He was a member of Teamsters Local #40 and the N.R.A. Sherm had a great sense of humor and enjoyed golfing with his friends and bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife, Coreta (Frasher) Stackhouse; his children, Susan (Robert) Bailey, of Ashland, Shirley (Jim) Sowers, of Ashland, Randy (Terry) Stackhouse, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Alan (Angie) Lease, of Ashland, Debbie (Ralph) Acker, of Ashland, and Glenn (Laurie) Stackhouse II, of Perrysville; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandaughter; sister, Glenna (John) Longwell, of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Stackhouse; and a sister, Lucetta Bartley.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Tim Nowlin. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park.
