Mildred Grace Blaney died at Primrose on Feb. 6, 2018.
She was born at home in Weller Township to the late Carl and Mabelle Baker on Sept. 3, 1917. She graduated from Weller High School in 1936 and completed her Bachelor of Education from Ashland College in 1965.
She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church, Ruth Chapter of Eastern Star, and Daughters of American Revolution (DAR). She was a first grade teacher for 17 years of her 20 year career at Stingel Elementary School in Ontario. She loved to play bridge and played 2-3 times per week. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and counted cross stitching. She was also a big fan of NASCAR and particularly watched Ryan Blaney.
She is survived by three sons, Ted (Virginia), of Owenton, Kentucky, Tom (Dorothy), of Chapin, South Carolina, and Terry (Nancilee), of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burdell; and a granddaughter, Erin Blaney.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, with visitation an hour prior. Rev. Peg Welch and Pastor Karen Wagenhals will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
