LEXINGTON — Beacon Center for Counseling is proud to announce that they have hired Derrick Martin as one of their newest licensed professional counselors at their Lexington satellite office, located at 220 Industrial Drive in Lexington.
Martin comes to Beacon with a vast background and range of experience in focusing his work with crisis and trauma, as well as marriage and pre-marital counseling. Prior to becoming a counselor, he served in public safety as a firefighter/paramedic and a police officer before being injured in 2008. Since 2012, he has maintained his ordination as a professional chaplain endorsed by Liberty Baptist Fellowship and previously served as a juvenile court officer with the Richland County Court of Common Pleas.
Martin obtained his Master of Divinity in Chaplaincy in 2012 from Liberty University and his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland University earlier this month.
