MANSFIELD – Preparation for next year’s freshman class at The Ohio State University at Mansfield is about to get underway. First-year students from across northeastern Ohio will attend orientation sessions on campus starting in June.
“Orientation helps new students begin to feel at home on the Mansfield campus and in the Mansfield community,” said Ohio State Mansfield Special Projects Associate Jon Clevenger. “Students also become familiar with the wide range of academic opportunities available at Ohio State Mansfield.”
All first-year freshman are required to attend the all-day orientation program. Registration is required. Orientation is the next step of the student’s transition to college so the goal is to immerse the student on campus to familiarize them with the resources available in addition to scheduling their classes. An optional light schedule is prepared for parents, or they are welcome to explore the Mansfield community for the day.
“Orientation is an opportunity for students to learn just about everything they need to know in order to have a successful start at Ohio State in the fall,” Clevenger said. “Students will also get to schedule their classes and ask questions. We encourage students to bring a list of questions with them to orientation to be sure the feel ready to go for the start of classes.”
