MANSFIELD — The man who was shot at the 747 Bowman Street residence on Thursday has died, making the Mansfield Police Department’s investigation a homicide.
Nolan Lovett, 32, was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital after suffering at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead a short time after.
According to Mansfield Police, authorities received multiple 911 calls around 2:15 p.m. Thursday saying someone had been shot.
“Witnesses to the incident advised that the suspect, an unidentified black male, pulled a gun and shot Mr. Lovett after a short altercation at the incident’s location,” a press release stated. “The suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large. Several firearms were recovered at the scene.”
According to witnesses at the scene, there was a short verbal altercation between Lovett and the suspect, prior to the shooting. The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and dark colored pants or jeans, possibly blue or black in color.
