ASHLAND — The Emergency Department at UH Samaritan Regional Health System was thrilled to receive carefully made-up packets of books recently donated by the Early Childhood Education program at Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center.
The donation was a community service project for the students in the Early Childhood Education program. It was conceived as a way to promote language literacy for children who must come to the Emergency Room.
The packets that included over 200 books were received by Emergency Room nurses Heather Flenner and Elaine Siewert on behalf of Chris Coffy, Director of Emergency Services. Mrs. Shirley Meehan is the Early Childhood Education instructor.
