Paul E. Ingold, 92, of Mansfield passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Paul was born on April 13, 1925 in Carter County, Kentucky. He was the oldest of nine children born to the parents of Frank and Bertha (Mullins) Ingold.
Paul was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country during World War II serving in the Pacific. He returned home to marry his childhood sweetheart, Pauline Burton and were blessed with 72 years together. He worked at Lazarus, retiring after 25 years of employment, and also worked at Added Touch. He was a member of Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church. Everyone that knew Paul would say that he was a hard working man, and he continued to work until he was 90 years old. In his spare time when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed golfing and building doll houses.
He leaves behind his wife, Pauline Ingold; grandchildren, Misty (Michele) Coleman of Mansfield, RT (Stacey) Mong of Lexington, Lori (Richard) Kryspin of Columbus, and Julie Mong of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Derek, Ronnie, Curtis, Kelan, Kylee and Kinley; sisters, Lucille Griffey of Xenia and Elsie (Toby) Wolf of Columbus; brother, Hubert (Jo) Ingold of Xenia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Evelyn Gassaway; granddaughters, Mendy Mong and Missy Hedrick; great-grandson, Joshua Mong; and five brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road from 2:00-5:00 pm. Dr. Bill Crank will officiate the funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery with military honors conducted by Richland County Veterans Burial Detail.
