MANSFIELD – Richland Bank is celebrating its 120th anniversary with 120 Days of Giving. The first commitment was $5,000 to fund the first year of the Birthday Celebrations at The Friendly House.
“Giving back to our community is the heart of who we are at Richland Bank,” said President Chris Hiner. “Caring for our community kept rising to the top as we were planning how to celebrate our anniversary. When we received an email about the Friendly House Birthday Celebrations, we know it was the perfect start to 120 Days of Giving.”
The Friendly House will celebrate the birthdays of the 135 children registered in their after-school program. The celebrations will be held at the end of the month to honor all the children with birthdays that month. Cake and ice cream sandwiches are served and a small gift is given to each child.
“There are kids in our after-school program who have gone years without celebrating their special day,” said Christopher Fyffe, assistant director at The Friendly House. “We set a goal to celebrate the birthdays of the 135 children currently registered in the program. We want each child to feel special and celebrate the uniqueness of who they are.”
Richland Bank volunteers will help serve cake and ice cream and clean up at each birthday celebration.
“Richland Bank has been vital in helping us get these celebrations off the ground,” Fyffe said. “We are truly grateful.”
The next celebration will be on Thursday, March 29 at 3 p.m.
