MANSFIELD -–  More than 30 local artists are planning to showcase new work at what will be the first of several art exhibitions at La Luna, 32 N. Walnut St. in Mansfield.

The Membrane Constellation Exhibit is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The artists decided to challenge themselves by creating new works inspired by the new year, owner and event coordinator Aurelio Villa Luna Diaz said.

This particular exhibit will feature a few first-time exhibitors in conjunction with artists who have solidified their reputation in Mansfield’s art community.

“We really wanted to create an opportunity and a place for artists, especially artists who aren’t given the chance to shed light on their exquisite art,” Diaz said. “At La Luna we pride ourselves in going against the grain by fostering unbridled art, music, and activism.

“With that said, this particular event will not be kid friendly as it will touch on more mature, personal, and political issues,”

The Membrane Constellation Exhibit will be open to the public every Saturday until March 24, from 2:30 to 6 p.m. During this time, artists throughout the community are welcome to come and create in an open studio space with the exhibiting artists. The purpose of this is to promote artistic collaboration and networking.

Artists featuring work will include, Lucas Hargis, James Lee Van Horn, Cameron Sharp, Jason Ned Kaufman, Orie Rush, Neil Yoder, Julie Elkins, Diane Cooper, Braxton Daniels III, Matthew Shepard, Jo Westfall, Thorn Monarch, Kaitlyn Schmitz, Aurelio Villa Luna Diaz, Michael Nixon, Chad Bee, Nick Harris, Alison Rae Bach, Victoria Hoefler, Autumn Rose, Christopher Scott Medina, McKinley Hargis, Shay Harris, Ken Arthur, Tim Gorka, Nate Wieland, Josh Bower, Noah Schenk, Chris Weidinger, Devin Hyart, Abby Zirzow, Aaron McNaulty, and Gordon Leroy.
