BUCYRUS — A 36-year-old man was charged Sunday with resisting arrest and assault of an officer after a Sunday incident in Bucyrus, police say.
According to a Bucyrus Police report, officers responded to an accident in the 400 block of West Center Street at approximately 1:52 a.m. on Sunday. The driver had hit a parked vehicle and was attempting to leave the scene.
In the ensuing incident, police say Jesse Sanger was arrested on a charge of OVI, failure to comply, resisting arrest and assault of an officer, after driving towards an officer, and hitting a police cruiser while attempting to leave the area.
The officer was able to avoid being struck by the fleeing car.

3:55 p.m. A juvenile complaint was investigated in the area of Prospect and Hopley Av. and kids were warned not to walk in the roadway.
4:34 p.m. A license plate, # HED8038, was reported stolen or lost in the 500 block of S. Spring St.
4:46 p.m. Traffic Stop was made in the area of E. Southern Ave. and Hopley Ave. for no drivers license and the vehicle was towed.
5 p.m. A parking complaint was investigated in the 800 block of Rogers St. and a vehicle had been cited for 48-hour parking and the owner moved it.
5:22 p.m. A traffic complaint was investigated on Woodlawn Av. A subject with a dirt bike was located and walked their bike home.
5:23 p.m. A parking complaint was made in the 1500 block of N. Sandusky Av.
5:42 p.m. Officers attempted to serve a warrant.
7:41 p.m. Officers assisted Crawford County Sheriff’s Office attempting to serve a warrant in the 1300 block of Woodlawn Ave.
7:53 p.m. A person was warned for trespassing in the 500 block of Failor St.
9:03 p.m. A traffic warning was issued in the 200 block of N. Sandusky Av.
9:20 p.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of Washington Square.
10:34 p.m. Officers served a city income tax summons in the area of W. Mansfield St.
10:58pm Officers investigated suspicious activity in the 1000 block of S. Sandusky Ave. A motion light had been turning on and off.
Tuesday, Jan. 23
2:21 a.m. Officers attempted to locate a subject with warrants out of Delaware, Knox and Montgomery County. Justin Counts, 26, was located on Iron St. and arrested.
5:51 a.m. A report of suspicious people walking around houses in the 900 block of Rogers St. was investigated and a pedestrian was walking in the neighborhood.
6:29 a.m. Officers responded to an alarm in the 500 block of W. Warren St. and it was a false alarm.
