Virginia Madson, 98, of Newark, formally of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at Brookdale Facility.
She was born Sept. 30, 1919 in Jackson, Ohio to Harry and Gertrude (Marsh) Shear.
Virginia was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She worked during World War II in Washington, D.C. in the defense department. She was a member of First Congregational Church, and a member of the Women’s Club and several bridge clubs.
She is survived by her son, Bruce (Marcy) Madson; grandson, Michael Jess Madson; and granddaughter, Kellie Ann Madson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jess Madson; brother, Harry Shear Jr.; and sisters, Evelyn Reitz and Altha Shear.
There will be no services observed at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookdale Hospice, 331 Goose Pond Road Newark, Ohio 43055. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Virginia Madson.
