BUCYRUS — Bucyrus Police arrested a fugitive with active warrants in Richland County after a domestic dispute on Saturday afternoon.
Authorities say Paxton J. Bair, 35, was arrested in the area of Pinewood Apartments after leading officers on a short pursuit.
At approximately 5:02 p.m., officers checked an individual for active warrants in the 900 block of Marion Road in Bucyrus. The man was involved in an earlier domestic dispute but had left that scene.
He was charged with OVI, Fleeing and Eluding and resisting arrest. He also had two active warrants out of Richland County. Bair was taken to the Crawford County Justice Center pending a court appearance.

7:42 p.m. A traffic warning was issued in the 500 block of W. Mansfield Street.
7:50 p.m. An open line 9-1- 1 call was investigated in the 100 block of Washington Square.
8:50 p.m. Officers attempted to serve a warrant in the 200 block of Whetstone Street.
8:56 p.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of Southern and Marion Road.
9:05 p.m. Officers attempted to serve a warrant in the 400 block of E. Warren Street.

1:16 a.m. Officers assisted a motorist locked out of her vehicle at IB Tech.
1:19 a.m. Officers checked on a reported suspicious pedestrian in the area of Catherine and Warren Street.
1:27 a.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of Failor and Bryant Avenue.
9:24 a.m. A report of a disturbance in the 900 block of Marion Rd. was a subject that had caused a disturbance at the Clark Station.
10:58 a.m. Officers assisted with a vehicle lock out in the 1100 block of W Mansfield St.
11:27 a.m. Officers checked for suspicious persons in the 1000 block of Tiffin St.
12:25 p.m. Officers assisted Life Support in the area of Bucyrus Plaza with a subject that was experiencing mental health issues.
12:32 p.m. The owner of property in the 600 block of W Mary St. reported the theft of wiring from the residence.
1:18 p.m. A report of a truck driving in the grass in the 1600 block of Marion Rd. was unfounded.
3:54 p.m. Officers spoke with a juvenile on station regarding law enforcement careers.
4:04 p.m. Possible drug paraphernalia was picked up in the 200 block of Plymouth St and was properly disposed of.
4:27 p.m. A disturbance in the area of Bucyrus Estates was investigated. A male involved had broken a window and left the area.
6:36 p.m. A domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of W. Mansfield Street was investigated and an individual experiencing mental health issues was assisted at the hospital.
8:32 p.m. A traffic warning was issued in the 100 block of W. Mansfield Street.
8:35 p.m. The K9 officer assisted deputies perform a drug sniff at the jail.
11:20 p.m. An open line 9-1- 1 call from the 100 block of E. Mansfield Street was investigated.
11:34 p.m. Officers assisted a Trooper on a traffic stop in the area of State Route 4 south.
11:38 p.m. Officers checked on two vehicles out at Aumiller Park.
11:57 p.m. Officers checked on a suspicious vehicle on Marion Road.
Sunday, Jan. 21
12:02 a.m. A loud music complaint was investigated in the 1000 block of Elm Street.
12:03 a.m. A traffic citation was issued in the area of Aurora and Jones Street.
12:07 a.m. An audible alarm on Marion Road was investigated. It was a false alarm from the First Church of the Nazarene.
12:14 a.m. Michael Sturtz, 29, was arrested on a Crawford County warrant. He was also issued a citation for drug possession and he was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court.
12:40 a.m. Officers checked a suspicious vehicle in the 1500 block of N. Sandusky Avenue.
1:52 a.m. Officers responded to an accident in the 400 block of W. Center Street where the driver had hit a parked vehicle and was attempting to leave the scene. Jesse Sanger, 36, was arrested on a charge of OVI, Failure to comply, resisting arrest and assault of an officer, after driving towards an officer, and hitting a police cruiser while attempting to leave the area. The officer was able to avoid being struck by the fleeing car.
2:39 a.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of Poplar and Warren Street.
2:53 a.m. Officers assisted a State Trooper on a traffic stop near state route 4.
3:33 a.m. Officers delivered a message to a resident in the 500 block of S. Sandusky Avenue for another agency.
6:50 a.m. A report of a subject refusing to pay a taxi fare was taken. The taxi driver was then paid.
8:06 a.m. A false alarm was received from the 200 block of Brentwood.
8:25 a.m. Officers assisted a female experiencing mental problems on Kaler Ave.
10:03 a.m. Officers made a welfare check in the 1300 block of Orra St for Crawford County Job and Family Services.
10:48 a.m. A report of a domestic dispute in the 1700 block of Whetstone St was unfounded.
1:58 p.m. A Cleland Ave resident reported kids were throwing snowballs at him every time he left his home. Officers spoke with the kids and their parent.
2:11 p.m. Officers picked up possible drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of W Mary St.
4:42 p.m. A report of a vehicle speeding in the area of Cleland and Beverly Dr. was investigated.
4:55 p.m. A Schaber St resident reported someone hitting her home with something and then running away. Officers did not locate a suspect.
4:57 p.m. A parking complaint in the 900 block of E Warren St was investigated.
5:08 p.m. A motorist was given a warning for obstructed license plate in the 1400 block of N Sandusky Ave.
7:04 p.m. Officer assisted EMS personnel with a patient in the 600 block of S. Sandusky Avenue.
8:36 p.m. Officers checked a false alarm in the 1500 block of W. Southern Avenue.
9:17 p.m. Officers checked an overtime parking complaint on Hayes Avenue.
9:48 p.m. A resident in the 1300 block of Woodlawn Avenue reported his Samsung tablet stolen from his residence.
10:13 p.m. An overtime parking complaint in the area of Wiley and Rensselaer Street was investigated.
