BUCYRUS — Bucyrus Police Officer Sam Caldwell completes his final tour of duty at 3 p.m. on Jan. 5. Caldwell is retiring.
He is a graduate of Bucyrus High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his military service he returned to Bucyrus and joined the Bucyrus Police Department.
“We are grateful for his 26 years of faithful and dedicated service for the City of Bucyrus and wish him well,” Bucyrus Police Chief David Koepke stated in a press release.

3:48 p.m. A traffic complaint was investigated in the area of Isaac Beal and Beal Av.
4:38 p.m. A traffic complaint was investigated in the 800 block of S. East St.
5:21 p.m. A civil standby was requested in the 500 block of S. Walnut St.
5:29 p.m. A false alarm was investigated in the 2000 block of Isaac Beal Rd.
5:32 p.m. A parking complaint was investigated in the 500 block of S. Walnut St. and the vehicle had left the area.
7:52 p.m. One income tax summons was served in the 300 block of E. Charles St.
8:07 p.m. Officers attempted to serve income tax summons in the 1000 block of S. Sandusky Ave.
8:15 p.m. Two income tax summons were served in the 1600 block of Colonial Dr.
8:20 p.m. One income tax summons was served in the 400 block of W. Beal Ave.
8:32 p.m. Officers served two income tax summons in the 1400 block of Woodlawn Av.
8:39 p.m. Two income tax summons were served in the 200 block of Wayne Av.
8:44 p.m. One income tax summons was served in the 2000 block of E. Mansfield St.
9:09 p.m. Four income tax summons were served in the area of Waterford Glen.
9:15 p.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of Irving and Orra St.
9:29 p.m. Officers served two income tax summons in the 900 block of Wingert St.
9:46 p.m. Officers served two income tax summons in the 100 block of N. Spring St.
9:53 p.m. Officers attempted to serve income tax summons in the 300 block of W. Oakwood St.
11:24 p.m. Officers checked a residence in the 400 block of Gay Street after the resident thought she heard someone outside her house. No one was located in the area.

1:14 a.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of US 30 and 330.
1:36 a.m. A traffic warning was issued on Lane Street.
2:05 a.m. Officers checked a residence in the 900 block of Earl Street after residents there thought they heard something hit their fence.
2:20 a.m. A traffic warning was issued in the area of E. Mansfield and Hall Street.
3:12 a.m. A vehicle found damaged and abandoned at Outhwaite Reservoir was towed from the area.
