ASHLAND – Children who reside in a home receiving power from Firelands Electric Co-op are invited to enter the 2018 Electrical Safety Coloring and Digital Art Contests. 

In addition to a traditional coloring contest, the co-op is also sponsoring a digital art category this year. Children of members, ages 3-14, are invited to participate in the contest and entries are due in the Firelands office by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1.

Winners will be notified by March 15 and will be featured in the May issue of Ohio Cooperative Living magazine as part of National Electrical Safety Month. Photos of winners and their entries will also be showcased on the co-op’s website and social media outlets.

Contest entries will be judged in the following categories:

Coloring:

Group 1 — Ages 3-4 years Group 2 — Ages 5-6 years Group 3 — Ages 7-9 years

Digital Art: (digitally-created poster/ad or 30-second video)

Group 4 — Ages 10-14 years

The top two winners in each category will receive a trophy and gift card.

 The contest is limited to one entry per child, and the child must live in a home served by Firelands Electric. All entries need to be accompanied by an Official Entry and Photo Release Form.
