BELLVILLE — The owners of Haven Salon & Spa hope to make their new business a place with a “big-city feel, but small-town appeal.”
Oliva Liberti and her husband Brendan celebrated the grand opening of their salon, 105 Main St. in Bellville, Friday with a ribbon-cutting event.
“When I first started dreaming this up, my dad was like, ‘Well, you want a big city-feel, but small-town appeal,'” Olivia said. “It was kind of a joke, but then it stuck.”
The idea, she says, is to provide high-end services at “humble” prices. The salon offers hair styling, manicures, pedicures, massages, makeup and waxing.
She and her staff of five others are especially looking forward to working with bridal parties.
“It’s an open atmosphere and sets the scene for really pretty pictures for them,” Liberti said.
The new business owner was born and raised in Bellville, but moved to Mansfield and Mount Vernon for short periods after graduating from the Paul Mitchell School in 2012.
“Then, I really decided my heart was in Bellville, and I wanted to provide the community with my services and eventually have a salon here,” she said.
Her heart was set on a Main Street location. So two years ago, the Libertis purchased the building at 105 Main St., which formerly housed Edward Jones Investments. The business wasn’t ready to move out yet and had several years left on a lease, but when that rental agreement ended surprisingly early, Liberti was excited to begin.
They started renovating the space in July and opened in early November. They held their grand opening Friday, Nov. 17 and will hold an Open House from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 with discounts, food and live music by Jeff Welty.
Brendan noted the past several months have been busy, but exciting. The couple has two children, 18-month-old Nolan and 4-year-old Sophia, who were at the ribbon-cutting event Friday. With a wide smile on her face, Sophia cut the ribbon in half with a giant pair of scissors.
“We’re so excited to get started here,” Olivia Liberti said.
The salon’s regular hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
