Maureen Pelham, 89, of Lexington passed away at her home on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1928 in Liverpool, England to Bernard and Lilly (Doran) O’Rourke.
Maureen was a generous, kind, and loving individual who always shared amazing hugs. Maureen came to the United States to start a new life in the 50’s. She worked as a secretary and retired from the Mansfield Board of Realtors.
Maureen was a member of the Ressurection Parish Catholic Church in Lexington where she was part of Stephen’s Ministry and helped with communion. She was also a member of the Internationals Women’s Club. She enjoyed needlepoint, gardening and had a love for dancing.
Maureen is survived by her son, Stephen Pelham of Columbus; half-son, Ernest Pelham (Sylvia), of Canada; two half-grandchildren, Greg (Leanna) Pelham, of Canada, and Natalie Pelham (Carol), of Sydney, Australia; two half-great-grandchildren, Jack and Jordan; two brothers, James O’Rourke (Mary), of Cleveland, and Bernard O’Rourke (Marjorie), of Maghull, England; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ernest Pelham.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at the Life Celebration Reception Center, 129 S. Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 248 Park Avenue West Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
