GALION — Thomas O’Leary will have familiar company in Galion City Government after earning his second term as mayor on Tuesday night.
“I’m certainly pleased about the outcome,” O’Leray said of the final unofficial results of the Crawford County Board of Elections. “I had strong support in this three-way race and to have the total I had is reassuring.”
O’Leary earned 1,269 votes (59.89 percent. Jim Hedges had 519 votes (24.49 percent). Kenneth Bodkins earned 331 votes (15.62 percent). There were a total of 2,119 votes cast in the race.
“This is good for Galion local government,” O’Leary said. “We have continuity now as the law director (Thomas N. Palmer) and auditor (Brian L. Treisch) will continue.
Palmer earned 1,270 votes over E. Roberta Wade who collected 702 out of 1,972 total votes.
Treisch had 1,051 votes over Susan Bean (591 votes) and Paula E. Durbin (379 votes). There were a total of 2,021 votes in the Galion auditor’s election.
Mike Richard won a contested Galion City Third Ward Council battle for his third term. Richart received 184 votes (55.93 percent) over challenger Joe Haley, who had 145 votes (45.10 percent). There were a total of 329 votes cast in the race.
In the fourth ward council battle, Tammy SiclairErlsten earned the seat with 364 votes (54.9 percent). Jennifer J Kuns received 299 votes (45.10 percent).
In Bucyrus, Douglas B Foght earned the Third Ward Council seat over William J O’Rourke. Foght received 633 votes to O’Rourke’s 202.
Garnet “Sis” Love squeaked out a tight victory in the Bucyrus City President of Council race. Love collected 1,117 votes and Kurt Fankhauser had 1,048 votes.
A strong percentage of voters favored The Crawford County ADAMH Board 1-mill renewal levy. “For” earned ,5808 votes and “Against” received 3,599 votes out of a total of 9,404 votes.
Crawford County Children Services 1.5 mills additional levy was also passed. In a closer vote, 4,843 voters voted in favor of the levy and 4,561 voters voted against it.
