BUCYRUS – A Crawford County Grand Jury met twice in September to return indictments on 45 cases with 128 total charges.
Prosecutor Matt Crall praised area law enforcement in keeping the community safe, resulting in the 45 cases filed.
“We had been seeing fewer cases of heroin, but the last month we have seen an increase in overdoses and fentanyl entering our community,” Crall said. “We have also seen more meth.”
Crall’s office also presented two cases of child rape to the Grand Jury, which it found probable cause to indict. Crall said the victims ranged from ages 8 to 13 in those cases.
“Those cases are particularly upsetting because the victims are young,” Crall said. “Persons who will hurt the most vulnerable in our society must be held accountable.”
