GALION – Parents and families of Galion City School District students in the Middle and High Schools are invited to attend an informational meeting about the district’s new learning management system called Canvas.
The Galion Middle School meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Middle School cafetorium Sept. 14, while the Galion High School informational session will also begin at 7 p.m. in the High School cafetorium Sept. 21.
“This new learning management system will allow our teachers and students to blend the digital learning materials they use in one convenient location,” said Director of Technology Veronica Rinehart. “Parents or guardians can create a Canvas Observer Account that will allow them to view all their child’s progress in one easy to use location as well.”
The district will continue to use Progress Book for quarterly grade cards. Parents and guardians can access instructions for creating a Parent Observer Account on the district’s website at http://www.galionschools.org/parents/canvas-2.
If parents or guardians are unable to attend their respective building meeting, they are encouraged to contact Director of Technology Veronica Rinehart at rinehart.veronica@galionschools.org, Director of Teaching, Learning and Instruction Jennifer Allerding at allerding.jennifer@galionschools.org or Director of Academics, Assessments and Federal Programs Paul Wheeler at wheeler.paul@galionschools.org.
