MANSFIELD — Kindred Healthcare is shuttering its Mansfield operation, affecting 111 employees, according to documents filed with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Kindred Hospital Central Ohio is expected to close by Sept. 30.

“As a result of the Hospital closure, all positions at the Hospital will be eliminated,” the documents state. “Employee separations in connection with the transaction are expected to commence during the 14-day period starting on September 30, 2017. This action is expected to be permanent.”

Phone calls to the hospital on Friday morning were not returned by publication time. 

Kindred Hospital Central Ohio is a 33-bed transitional care hospital dedicated to providing quality care to medically complex and catastrophically ill patients requiring specialized acute hospital services, according to the hospital’s website.

It is located on the fifth floor of the OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, at 335 Glessner Ave. 

Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, Kindred Healthcare operates hospitals, nursing centers and contract rehabilitation services across the country.
