MANSFIELD — Nathan Cayten, 22, of Shiloh, was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Adario North Road near Olivesburg-Fitchville Road in Butler Township on Friday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:05 a.m.
According to the OSHP, a white Chevrolet 1500 P/U occupied by Cayten and Matthew Pickworth, 21, also of Shiloh, traveled off the right side of the road striking a ditch. The vehicle then re-entered the road and overturned before traveling off the left side of the road.
Cayten was ejected and died as a result of his injuries, authorities reported. Pickworth was transported to Ashland Samaritan hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation at this time and alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor, the OSHP stated. Neither occupant were wearing a seatbelt.
According to the patrol, it is unknown at this time which occupant was the driver at the time of the crash.
