Minnie M. Burris, 92, of Mansfield passed away in her home, Saturday, July 15, 2017, after a long illness. She was born April 4, 1925, in Mason County, West Virginia, to the late Reuben Wilson Hayes and Sarah Litchfield Hayes.

Minnie came to Ohio shortly after marrying her husband, Myron Burris, on August 29, 1972. She worked as a waitress at Hilltop Restaurant for many years and retired from Hi-Stat Manufacturing. Minnie loved to go to the mall and shop for clothes. Her love of the Lord was evident in her every day life. She liked music and enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Her family was most important to her.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Myron B. Burris; children, Nancy (James) Rohde, Ron (Vanessa) Burris, Stan Burris and Lawrence (Visy) Cook, Jr.; a brother, Charles (Nancy) Hayes; two sisters, Dorothy Barnett and Ruth Cassell; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by four brothers, Gilbert, Clyde, James G. and Warren Hayes; and three sisters, Golden Welker, Naomi Relyea and Mary Lou Weethee.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor William Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or OhioHealth Hospice.
