LUCAS — Lucas Schools are hiring teachers and handling scheduling chores while the district seeks a new superintendent.
Linda T. Keller, interim superintendent, is in charge of the Mid Ohio Educational Service Center’s search committee to replace Dan Freund, who resigned last month to take a job at Highland Local Schools.
Freund, 68, was the superintendent at Lucas for four years. Keller said the school district’s job opening has received interest, though she did not reveal the number of applications.
“People are applying,” she said. “We have the job posting on all administration websites in Ohio.”
The Lucas School Board’s job posting is looking for an applicant with previous experience as a superintendent who actively uses technology, experience in curriculum development and has high leadership ability, Keller said.
“The school board is open minded to reviewing anyone who is licensed to be a superintendent,” she said. “They will meet with applicants for the first round of interviews”
