John A. Armstrong, 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday July 11, 2017 at his residence.
John was born March 24, 1935 in Camden, Ohio to Archie and Elizabeth Armstrong.
He worked over 40 years at the local General Motors Plant before retiring to his beloved farm.
John, who enjoyed helping others, was a 53-year proud member of Snow Trails Ski Patrol serving since 1964. He also volunteered his time working for Habitat for Humanity.
John loved his family and his farm above all.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma (Wysong) Armstrong; children Cindy and Doug Moody, John and Susie Armstrong, Pam and Tim Sweet, and Tim and Missy Armstrong; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; his brother and sister-in-law Archie and Phyllis Armstrong; his dog Rosie and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Duane Armstrong, great grandson Zac Anderson, and a sister Joanne Bowman.
If wealth is measured by the amount of friends and family your life has touched, John died a very rich man.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home.
