Beverly “Bev” Ann Papst, 84, of Mansfield, passed away shortly after noon on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.

She was born Nov. 24, 1932, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Ralph and Julia White.

She was formerly employed as a cook at Mansfield MedCentral Hospital. Bev loved to cook and enjoyed throwing and attending big parties. Joking and having fun with her family, especially at the holidays, were her favorite times. Bev was an avid fan of her grandchildren’s sporting activities and their most supportive cheerleader.

She enjoyed camping at the lake and just driving around looking at the wonders of nature. In her free time, she made many crochet creations that she lovingly shared with family and friends. She attended St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Shelby.

Bev is survived by three sons, Richard (Lori) Papst, of Perrysville, Gary Papst and Craig (Debbie) Papst, both of Ontario; a daughter, Beth (Mike) McBride, of Mansfield; twelve grandchildren, Levi (Jen) Papst, Lucas Papst, Zevon (Stephanie) Papst, Isaiah (Dahlia) Papst, Zaynon Papst, Gerad Papst, Brooklyn Papst, Brett (Andrea) Papst, Mitchell Papst, Mackenna Papst, Madison Papst and Caroline McBride; and 11 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Taylor, Landon, Addison, Sydney, Alexis, Logan, Timber, Tinley, Aleah and Ellie. She is also survived by a sister, Barbara Hassel; a sister-in-law, Sondra Fleming and her family; several nieces and nephews; and many dear cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph White and Julia (Sidley) Zimmerman; and her husband, William R. Papst.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 2, 2017, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with additional visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
