MANSFIELD – The Fourth of July is a holiday marked by red, white and blue, backyard cookouts, and celebrating our nation’s freedom.

It’s also a holiday for fireworks. 

We’ve collected a list of fireworks displays in the month of July for those looking for some “oohs” and “aahs” this Independence Day.

Richland County

Clear Fork Adventure Resort Fireworks Extravaganza – Saturday, July 1 – starting at 9:30 p.m. 

This all-day event includes fun activities like the Tubular Plunge, Rock Wall, Bungie Jumping, Sand Volleyball, Wake Boarding, Corn Hole and Paddle Boats. Contests, games and prizes will go on throughout the day, and the “Southern Sirens” Band will play from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Charles Mill Lake Park Red, White, and Blue Fest – Saturday, July 1 – starting at dusk 

The park’s Red, White, and Blue Fest kicks off early Saturday morning with a 6:30 a.m. Early Bird Catfish Tournament. Other activities throughout the day include laser tag, patriotic crafts, beach games and concession stands. 

Ontario Fourth of July Festival – Saturday, July 1 – starting at 10:05 p.m. 

Ontario’s fireworks begin at the conclusion of a full day of fun at the city’s Fourth of July Festival. Starting at 10:05 p.m. fireworks will be located behind the Middle School, and sponsored by the city of Ontario and the 4th of July Festival Committee. Listen to the Music Simulcast by WVNO Mix 106.1.

Mansfield Motor Speedway Freedom Fest – Sunday, July 2 – starting after races conclude

Free Fireworks after the races for all. Gates will be opened to the public upon completion of the FREEDOM 50 racing and all guests are welcome to enjoy the fireworks show.

Shelby Bicycle Days Festival – Saturday, July 15 – starting at 9:30 p.m. 

Shelby’s Bicycle Days Festival concludes with a fireworks display at W.W. Skiles Field, following a Pre-Fireworks Show sponsored by Donley Ford and featuring Chase Beaire from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. then The Jimmy Warner Band from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.

Crawford County 

Galion Pickle Run – Sunday, July 2 – starting at dusk 

Galion’s Pickle Run Festival first began in 1978, earning its name from the legend of a grocer who used to pitch bad pickles into the creek in the 1890s. The festival was suspended in 1998, until a small group of citizens reignited the festival in recent years. 

Walton Lake Fireworks – Sunday, July 2 – starting at 9:30 p.m. 

Join the Walton Lake cottage owners and social members in celebrating the USA’s birthday with fireworks over the lake! The display will begin about 9:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted at entry to help offset costs. Rain date, July 5.

Crestline Independence Fireworks – Monday, July 3 – starting at dusk 

Fireworks in Crestline will take place at dusk on Monday, July 3 at the old Hutson Stadium. The rain date is July 5th.

2017 Bucyrus Fireworks – Monday, July 3 – starting at 9:20 p.m. 

Hosted by the Bucyrus Kiwanis, the 2017 Bucyrus Fireworks show will be hosted at the Crawford County Fairgrounds at dusk. Rain date is July 7. 

Ashland County

Mohican State Park – Saturday, July 1 – starting at dusk 

July 1 and 2 is the 17th annual Antique Festival. July 1 is Loudonville’s award winning Car Show and fireworks right in Central Park. Live entertainment, food and more. Free and open to the public.

Loudonville-Mohican Chamber of Commerce fireworks – Saturday, July 1 – starting at 9:30 p.m. 

Enjoy an exciting fireworks show presented by Zambelli Fireworks in Riverside Park on July 1 at dusk.

Ashland Community Fireworks Show – Tuesday, July 4 – starting at dusk 

Hosted by Rotary Club of Ashland and featuring Mansfield’s own Alter Ego at Ashland Community Stadium. Come check out the baddest R&B Funk band in the area, featuring Mr. Ed Jonnet on the saxophone. “It’s gonna be a great time and awesome fireworks!”

Christmas in July at Pleasant Hill Lake Park – Saturday, July 15 – starting at dusk 

Starting at noon, Pleasant Hill’s “Christmas in July” celebration includes food, inflatable games, and kayaking – all with Christmas-themed events and crafts. Santa himself will arrive by Jet Ski on the beach at 5 p.m. while his elves help with candy goodies for everyone. The fireworks display will even by set to Christmas music.
