MANSFIELD — Two Mansfield-area billiards teams brought home state championships from last month’s Ohio Coin Machine Association & Valley National Eight Ball Association tournament in Canton.
“The Dreamers,” who play weekly out of the Whiskey Warehouse in Mansfield, and “Tapt That Harder” who play out of the backroom lounge in Mansfield, each won titles. Both teams compete for Lorain Music & Vending Company and won in the AA Division, the highest level in Ohio during the event from May 4 to 7.
“The Dreamers” pocketed $4,600 with their Open AA bracket crown.
“Tap That Harder” took home $2,000 in the Ladies AA division title.
A number of local individuals also placed in singles play, including: Penny Blankenship (1st Ladies AA), Kurt England (2nd in Masters) and Angie Wagstaff (9th in Ladies A).
