ASHLAND – Two Ashland residents were arrested after Ashland police responded to a call of a man slumped over in his car Thursday afternoon.
At around 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Ashland police were called to Dollar General on East Main Street. According to a press release from the Ashland Police Division, Stephen Losh, 31, was discovered in his car with a 5-year-old child also in the car.
While police were on the scene, Amanda Morris, 30, came out of the store. Morris and Losh were arrested after police discovered drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia and suspected opiates in the vehicle.
Both were charged Friday with endangering children. Losh reportedly had an active arrest warrant from Wayne County.
The 5-year-old was taken by Ashland Police and turned over to Ashland County Department of Job and Family Services for placement. Two other children connected to Losh and Morris were also removed from another location and turned over to JFS.
The case was forwarded to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
