ONTARIO – Richland Bank is nearly doubling the size of its Ontario banking office.

Several local leaders were present when ground was broken for the office at 325 N. Lexington-Springmill Road Friday morning.

The office will remain open throughout the remodeling process, which will begin within the next two weeks. The remodel should be complete by February 2018.

“It might be a little more longer of a project than normal, but we want to make sure that we are able to stay open,” said John Q. Cleland, assistant vice president of operations at the bank. “This is a very busy branch, so we are stretching that out a little bit to be able to maintain our service to our customers.”

The additional space, which will be built from the front of the building, will include a lounge area, conference room and office space.

“To make a more customer-oriented experience is the purpose,” said Richland Bank President Chris Hiner.

Surrounded by other community leaders, Hiner and Randy Hutchinson, mayor of Ontario, simultaneously took the first shovels of soil from the ground in front of the current building.

The bank’s lobby is open 7 days a week with hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. This location is one of Richland Bank’s 11 full-service offices in Richland County.
