ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University has been designated as a “Best Value School” by University Research & Review, a website that lists higher education institutions that offer quality educations at an affordable cost and are highly regarded, especially by students.

“I am thrilled that Ashland University is receiving national recognition for providing such extraordinary value to its students. We made a conscious effort to reduce our tuition several years ago and we have kept increases minimal since that time,” said AU President Dr. Carlos Campo. “We focus on great teaching as well as placing an emphasis on engaging students both inside and outside of the classroom with exciting living and learning environments, and that is drawing attention.”

According to the University Research & Review website, the prestigious Best Value School Award is given to quality colleges, universities and career schools, many of which are overlooked by traditional ranking systems.

The website also notes, “Ours is not a ranking. Rather, it’s an honor bestowed to schools that deserve to stand out. It’s a way to distinguish your school from hundreds—even thousands—of others vying for potential students, including first-time college students, adults returning to school and students who aren’t happy where they are.”

Since 2012, the University Research & Review has reviewed more than 2,400 post-secondary institutions. And, in 2017, fewer than 100 institutions were designated to receive the Best Value School Award.
