MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Branch of the NAACP has announced its second annual College Scholarships. This year the organization has expanded its scholarship program and will offer two scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.

One scholarship will go to a graduating senior of Richland County and one will go to one Richland County student who is currently enrolled in college.

Last year, the NAACP scholarship recipient was Ms. Kiasha Franklin, who graduated from Mansfield Senior High. She is currently a Sophomore at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, she is studying nursing.

All applications must be postmarked by March 30. 2017.

Interested applicants should contact their high school counselors or call the Alice Williams at 419-774-0492 or the NAACP office at 419-522-9894. Applications can also be picked up at the NAACP office at: 3 N. Main St. Suite 409 (Richland Bank Building). Office hours are: Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
