MANSFIELD — Two people were arrested and suspected heroin and an assortment of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments were seized during a raid in Mansfield on Tuesday.

The METRICH Enforcement Unit assisted by the Mansfield Division of Police executed a search warrant at 151 Ohio St. The search warrant was a result of numerous complaints in reference to drug trafficking.

Authorities said METRICH detectives arrested and charged Tabatha L. Simmonds and Justin M. Simmonds with several counts each of Trafficking in Drugs. Both are incarcerated at the Richland County Jail where they await their court appearances. Additional charges may be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

“The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to target those individuals that traffic drugs in the community and would like to thank those individuals who called in the numerous tips and complaints regarding 151 Ohio St. which assisted detectives in this investigation,” METRICH Commander Lt. Joseph Petrycki stated.
