Roy Lee Risner, 66, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 25, 2017, at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Nov. 19, 1950, in Ashland, Kentucky, to Earnie Junior Risner and Verna May Selvage Risner.
He was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving for seven years in Germany. After his discharge, he began working at Clinton Machines and retired in 2010. In his free time, he enjoyed photography.
Roy is survived by two brothers, Wade “Tom” (Kay) Risner and Curtis (Lonna) Risner; a sister, Janet (Jerry) Novacic; a sister-in-law, Janis “Ann” Risner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Michael Risner; and brother, Elijah Risner.
A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at 2 p.m. in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
