MANSFIELD — Four people were arrested Thursday when the Richland County Community Policing-Probation-Parole Partnership conducted an operation to check on violent and drug offenders on supervision in the community.

Along with those arrested for violating their supervision, two fugitives were also apprehended and taken to the Richland County jail.

“It was a very successful evening operation checking on offenders in the community,” said J. Bittinger, Richland County Court Services and Task Force Officer. “By partnering with all of the agencies involved, we are able to combine resources and manpower. The Partnership has been very successful for several years and helps to make our community a safer place.”

The check was to ensure their compliance with the terms of their supervision. There were 25 officers from Richland County Court Services, Ohio Adult Parole Authority, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Mansfield Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force participating.

During the course of the operation officers made contact with nearly 60 residences of offenders on supervision. Officers found four offenders in violation of the rules and conditions of their probation, which resulted in arrests. One of the offenders was also charged with possession of drugs after being arrested.
