The Mansfield Police Department released this surveillance video photograph of the possible shooter in a double homicide at Helen Avenue on Jan. 15. 

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield Division of Police Major Crimes Unit is actively looking for suspects involved in a Jan. 15 double homicide on Helen Avenue.

On Wednesday, Mansfield Police released surveillance video photos of the possible shooter involved in the aggravated murder of two victims in the 199 area of Helen Avenue. Authorities believe the possible shooter was with two other males at the scene of the homicide.

“We are asking for the help of the community on identifying the suspects in this homicide,” stated Lt. Robert Skropits.

The first photo shows the partial face of the possible shooting suspect. The second picture is the back of the suspect’s jacket.

At 3:29 a.m. on Jan. 15, Mansfield Police responded to the area of 199 Helen Avenue after receiving calls about “shots fired” at this location. Officers arrived at the residence to find two male gunshot victims outside the home, both found to be deceased.

The first victim was identified as 28-year-old Sherrick Hunter. The second victim was later identified as 44-year-old Ronald Omar Gayles-Williams, both of Mansfield.

The Richland County Coroner’s Office was contacted and responded to the scene. The Mansfield Division of Police Forensic Science Crime Laboratory processed the scene.
