MANSFIELD — The Mansfield Police Department seeks the public’s help finding a suspect in Tuesday’s First Merit Bank robbery.
The First Merit Bank, 100 Park Avenue West, was a robbed at around 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, according to police. Authorities say when a black male suspect entered the bank, approached a bank employee and may have indicated he had an explosive device. He proceeded to rob the bank and then fled.
Photos taken at the scene show a black man with glasses, a slight beard and mustache, wearing camouflage pants, and a black hooded jacket.
The suspect was observed entering an older black sedan — possibly a Ford LTD or Lincoln model vehicle — and fled east. A number of units responded and canvassed the area, but the suspect remains at-large.
