At first glance it would appear that everything on the south side of Fourth Street (left side of the photo) has vanished since this postcard view was made in 1911. Certainly in the most bricks-and-mortar sense that is true: all of the buildings are gone today.
Yet a close look at the postcard image shows a business sign on the corner of Fourth and Diamond that reads: DRUGS—HURSH BROS. At that time the drug store was on the first floor of the Brunswick Hotel.
Go to the corner of Fourth and Diamond today and you will still find Hursh Drugs: only now it is located on the east side of Diamond Street.
