Marilyn J. Motson, 90, of Mansfield, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at Mansfield Place.
Born July 31, 1926 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Royden and Bertha (Reinewald) Motson.
She was a member of First English Lutheran Church were she was a Communion Deacon. She retired from Ohio Brass following 43 years of service as a Data Processor and Supervisor. Following her retirement, she worked at Martin Hardware downtown.
An avid golfer, she hit a hole-in-one at Little Apple and also volunteered at Mansfield General Hospital. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Corinne Motson of Mansfield; a nephew, Mark Motson, of Mansfield; two nieces, Julie (Kevin) Maxwell, and Jodi Palacios, both of Mansfield; a great niece, Jayda Motson; a great nephew, Rico Palacios; and her friend, Eugene Luedy, of Mansfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Royden (Cora) Motson and Charles Motson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mansfield Place for their love and care of Marilyn during her time there as well as OhioHealth Hospice and her doctor of many years, Dr. Rajan.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Paul L. Larson. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
