Hazel Pass

Hazel Pass, 83, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Ashland Samaritan Hospital. She was born in East Richland, Ohio on April 24, 1933 to William and Rosa (Haines) Huffman.

Hazel graduated from Wauseon High School and went on to attend Cleveland Bible College. She was a teachers aid throughout several school systems during her life. Hazel’s love for children continued on as she was the director of Little Friends Daycare Center at First Friends Church in the early 80’s. She also enjoyed collecting angels and lighthouses, but above all, Hazel loved being a Pastors wife and a very devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband, whom she married on September 3, 1975, Rev. Richard Pass; her children, John (Barb) Eastman, Jerry (Kimberly) Eastman, Joni (Gene) Esbenshade, Mark Pass, Vicki (Mike) Arnold, and Connie (Lee) Porterfield; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Pat) Huffman, Mary (David) Tatsch, Nancy Kleinhenzel; sister-in-law, Marjorie Olmstead; brother-in-law, Dale Poling; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her brothers, David and Paul Huffman; and sister Joyce Poling.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Mark Condo. Burial will follow at Windsor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Friends Church, 571 Logan Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44907.
