MANSFIELD – Social Worker Cheryl Conley, program director for the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, will facilitate a discussion on communicating with elders, both with and without Alzheimer’s disease, at a special Alzheimer’s Support Group session Monday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 112 W. 6th St.
Program topics will include biological changes in the aging brain that affect hearing, the increase in the number of barriers to effective communication with the elderly and how to effectively listen to and speak to elderly family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, church members and clients/patients.
