ASHLAND — Hospice of North Central Ohio (HNCO) has announced Bill Kahl has taken over as its Executive Director as of Aug. 22.
Bringing more than 30 years of healthcare experience to the position, including twenty in hospice care, Kahl has successfully directed non-profit and for-profit agencies, independent organizations, and hospital-based systems.
His background includes hospice, palliative, and home care, infusion, and senior services, along with extensive managed-care contracting experience.
“Working in hospice has always been my passion! I feel extremely fortunate to have been given the opportunity to serve with an organization that has the reputation and history of community involvement that HNCO does,” Kahl said.
Kahl attained a bachelor’s degree in economics and management in 1979 from John Carroll University and a master’s degree in business administration from Cleveland State University in 1984. He began his professional career in health management in Cleveland, Ohio, and from 1994 to 2000 held leadership roles with the Visiting Nurse Association in Cleveland and later Home Care Ohio in Akron.
Kahl served as Director of Robinson Visiting Nurse and Hospice in Ravenna, Ohio, from 2000 to 2009; Director of Lake Health Home Care Services in Concord Township, Ohio, from 2009 to 2012; and Director of Business Development for Summa at Home in Akron from 2012 to 2015.
Before joining HNCO, Kahl served as Executive Director at Family Tree Home Care Services in Aurora.
Kahl considers his primary strengths to be facilitating a team approach to providing high quality, cost-effective care for patients and maintaining close working relationships with their families and related care providers.
Kahl is relocating from Ravenna to the Ashland area and looks forward to being part of the community.
