PERRYSVILLE — The annual North Central Ohio Safe Boating and Fishing Festival will offer attendees free boat rides on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Lake Park.
Admission to the park will be free for the festival until 4 p.m.
Everyone is invited to take a free pontoon boat ride. Free sailboat rides will be provided by the Mansfield Sailing Club and free kayaking will give attendees a chance to try a kayak from Fin Feather and Fur.
While supply lasts, the first 100 children to participate in two events at the festival will receive a free life jacket provided by the Mansfield Noon Optimist Club.
Safe boating displays and information will be available too. Food, drink and dessert concessions will be available during the festival near the marina.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be netting off an area in Pleasant Hill Marina and stocking it with fish. This kid’s free fishing area will have everything you need including fishing poles, bait, and instruction provided so children age 14 and under can enjoy fishing.
The event is organized by the non-profit North Central Ohio Safe Boating Council with the help of many volunteers.
All scheduled events are free of charge. A wavier of liability form must be completed by a parent or guardian. All persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
All events are weather dependent. Past year’s festivals have been recognized as a Program Achievement Award Winner by ODNR Division of Watercraft.
Pleasant Hill Lake Park is located on Ohio 95 between Butler and Perrysville.
